Do we just assume that the aspects of the gospel that we've come to know and cherish are those we need to emphasise to the next generation? Tom Shaw argues that we have blind spots and need to carefully contextualise the gospel afresh, taking into account a complete lack of reference points for gospel basics.

Living the Gospel

Discipleship in the New Testament always included taking on the lifestyle of the person who was leading you. In the 21st century church we have tended to avoid doing this. We talk about the teachings of Jesus, study them, meditate on them and teach them to each other, but we rarely actively put them into practice. However, there are groups of men, women and children all over the world who are going back to biblical roots and choosing to life differently. Paul talks about what a life of imitating Jesus can look like and tells stories of communities which have embraced this radical walk.
