Gordon & Natalie Watson, Hope Church, Sittingbourne
Our Vision
Hope Church Sittingbourne exists to multiply the H.O.P.E. of Jesus in the hearts of everyone, everywhere, everyday.
H.O.P.E. is an acronym for multiplying disciples who observably:
H = Honour Jesus
O = Obey His Word
P = Pray beyond themselves
E = Everyone a Witness
Our story so far…
On 7th May 2018 the Watson family moved to Sittingbourne, having been sent by Cornerstone City Church, Medway, to pioneer a new church community in the nearby Kentish Town of Sittingbourne.
Over the summer months we worshipped with Faversham Community Church (a nearby Relational Mission church) and subsequently several key people and families were sent from FCC to join the Hope Church Sittingbourne adventure.
We’ve had the privilege of sharing Jesus with new friends, neighbours and colleagues and have led people to Christ, baptising several people in recent months in peoples bath-tubs at home.
Having been establishing roots in Sittingbourne for a couple of years now the church community is beginning to stretch out and engage with the local town in a number of creative ways. We recently started a CAP Life Skills course to help people manage life on a low income.
Things to pray for:
Increasing confidence and boldness as we obediently step out into the harvest field to share the Gospel with friends, family and local people.
For the vision of seeing local households established in each of the main residential areas of Sittingbourne, each one taking responsibility for and outworking local mission inits everyday witness to Jesus.
For the raising up of people of influence and responsibility in the season ahead. For the church to develop deacons and elders who take responsibility for the spiritual health of the community, living and serving beyond themselves.
