Matt and Helene Spocchia, Isle of Sheppy, UK

Our story so far…

In July 2018 we (the Spocchias) moved as a family (Matt, Helene, Martha and Edie) to Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey, Kent, UK, to begin planting Sheppey Gospel Plant.

What does it mean to be a “Gospel Plant”?

Simply put…  we're committed to planting seeds of the Gospel in our local community so that we would see local people saved and a local church(es) planted and established across the Island. We want the people we meet to see the hope of Jesus in our everyday lives.

Our heart is that we would be a Gospel Plant that helps people find their way back to God in an ever changing broken world; proclaiming and displaying the Gospel, seeing people who do not know Jesus become disciples of Jesus. Through salvation we want to see a healthy church planted here in Sheerness that impacts our local community and beyond! We believe that God has a better and bigger story than the world has for Sheppey and we long to see individuals, families, communities changed by it.

Prayer points:

  • Tender hearts: We want to share the hope of the Gospel with everyone in our community. We need our hearts to be full of compassion for those who don’t know Jesus yet.

  • Discipleship: We long to see those who come to know  Jesus grow  into  mature disciples of Jesus - sharing the hope they now have to those around them.

  • Salvation: We want to see those we get to know encounter Jesus for themselves and trust in Jesus for salvation and that we'd get to do many baptisms. Praise the Lord for the salvations we've seen so far but we want to see more lives changed by His grace.
